UPDATE: Suspect in custody after leading Boone County deputies on high speed chase

UPDATE 3/2: The suspect has been identified as Michael Havrum. He was arrested on Rambling Rose.

UPDATE 10:42 P.M.: The suspect is now in custody, according to Boone County authorities.

ORIGINAL STORY: Boone County deputies are looking for a suspect after a high speed chase on Wednesday night.

Deputies said the chase began when officers noticed a vehicle was missing a license plate on Rogers Road.

The vehicle took off at a high rate of speed and crashed north of Palmer and the suspect ran off. Officers said they searched the car and found methamphetamine inside.

A spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office says they know who they are looking for. The suspect is also a registered sex offender.
