Jefferson City police arrest man after woman overdoses

Jefferson City police arrested Mark Ostberg after officers were dispatched to reports of a drug overdose.

The victim of the drug overdose told police that Ostberg sold her the drugs. Police said paraphernalia gathered at the scene tested positive for Fentanyl.

Officers found Ostberg and searched his house. The search revealed methamphetamine, pipes, marijuana, packaging materials, needles, and a digital scale that tested positive for the presence of Fentanyl.

Police also looked through Ostberg’s phone and found messages between him and the victim in which he agrees to sell her drugs and directs her to his residence.

According to the probable cause statement, Ostberg is currently in the Cole County Pre-Trial Release Program and on GPS monitoring.

Ostberg is charged with delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.
