One charged after shots fired in north Columbia

UPDATE: ABC 17 News has confirmed Anthony Jones was arrested Saturday night after allegedly firing a gun in the 4000 block of Oakland Gravel Road.

Jones was charged with armed criminal action, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful use of a weapon. Jones’ bail is $30,000.

ORIGINAL: Columbia police officers detained one person after responding to a call for a disturbance with a weapon in the 4000 block of Oakland Gravel Road Saturday night.

Officers and Boone County Sheriff’s Department deputies were called to the area just after 10 p.m.

Sgt. Clint Sinclair with the Columbia Police Department said the investigation revealed at least one shot was fired, but there were no reported injuries.

Sinclair said officers are still talking to witnesses to determine what led up to the shooting.
