Heavy rain could lead to flooding through Saturday

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect until 12 AM Sunday for Camden, Gasconade, Maries, Miller, Osage, Phelps and Pulaski counties. A couple more rounds of moderate to locally heavy rain are expected Friday night through Saturday night with expected rainfall of 1 to 3 inches near and south of I-44. The ground is already saturated from recent rain and flooding is possible.

Rain will continue through Friday night and taper off from 6-9 AM Saturday. Another round of rain with embedded thunderstorms moves in from the southwest from near noon Saturday and tracks northeast through the afternoon, turning to showers and ending by late evening.

Areas most susceptible to flooding are low water crossings, low lying spots, creeks, streams and small rivers. Those living in areas prone to flooding should monitor latest forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Be prepared to take action if flooding develops.
