Winter weather advisory continues through this morning

THURSDAY: Freezing rain will make its way out of mid-Missouri through the early morning hours as it tracks to the northeast with temperatures in the upper 20s. These scattered showers through the night could make for slick spots on the roadways for the morning commute. Temperatures will reach the lower 40s in the afternoon with easterly winds up to 10 mph with mostly cloudy skies and some dry time. Spotty showers are possible by late afternoon, but will increase by this evening.

TONIGHT: This evening light rain showers will move in from the south and track to the northeast through the late evening hours ending by 5 AM. Temperatures will remain above freezing all night long as overnight lows by morning drop to 33 degrees. A light breeze will keep wind chills in the upper 20s under cloudy skies.

EXTENDED: Temperatures will climb into the lower 50s Friday afternoon under mostly cloudy skies. Another round of rain moves in Friday night with on and off rain Saturday as temperatures stay above freezing, reaching the upper 50s Saturday afternoon. Sunday looks dry and mild with highs in the mid 50s. By next week we dry out a bit with warmer weather as highs remain in the 50s.
