No. 11 Mizzou women’s basketball defeats Vanderbilt on senior night

The (11) Mizzou women’s basketball team won 83-68 over Vanderbilt on senior night for its sixth straight victory.

The win improves Mizzou’s record to 23-5 (11-4 SEC).

Amber Smith led the Tigers with 19 points and five rebounds.

Lauren Aldridge had 15 points shooting 5-5 from three in the first 5:55 of the game. She surpassed her previous season high of 13 points off just five shots in under six minutes.

Jordan Frericks finished one assist shy of a triple double. She had 16 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists. In the first quarter, she hauled down five rebounds to reach 1,000 rebounds in her career. Frericks is one of just three Mizzou women’s basketball players in school history to reach both 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in their college career.

Sophie Cunningham had 14 points. Four different Tigers finished in double figures as the Tigers set a season-high point total for a quarter after scoring 35 in the first quarter.

Mizzou next looks for its 7th win in a row in the final game of its regular season. The Tigers face Texas A&M on the road Feb. 25.
