Poplar Bluff schools placed on lockdown as officers look for armed, wanted man

Poplar Bluff schools were placed on lockdown on Wednesday afternoon because officers were searching for a wanted man.

Police said they were searching for Andrew Millican in the wooded area near the Poplar Bluff Kindergarten Center.

Millican is wanted in connection to a shoplifting investigation and has two active felony warrants for his arrest.

Officers believe Millican is armed with a stolen gun.

Police ask residents to avoid the area.

The schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution only.
