ORIGINAL STORY: Widespread rain will exit before the coldest air gets here, with the greatest potential for any freezing rain occurring into the evening hours. Areas west of Hwy 63 and south of Hwy 50 will see the best chance of freezing rain. Any freezing rain that does occur will be limited by the warm ground temperatures.

ABC 17 will continue tracking the changing weather conditions.

Some schools have scheduled early dismissal due to weather reports showing temperatures dropping as the rain continues.

ABC 17’s Aaron Morrison said there will be “ongoing widespread precipitation across Mid-Missouri, with temperatures slowly falling to freezing. Area roads are quite warm thanks to recent warming trend, which will limit any ice accumulation, as most spots will likely only see a glaze to just under .05″ of ice.”
