Mild Sunday with Windy Conditions Here To Stay

TODAY: We’re off to a bit of a frosty start across Mid-Missouri this morning. However, behind warm southerly winds and plentiful sunshine, we are going to warm up to near 60 degrees for high temperatures today. Those southerly winds will be strong today, gusting at times up to 30 mph.

TONIGHT: Those winds will continue into our overnight hours as we begin an active weather pattern tonight. We have a chance of showers building into the area but will hold off until around midnight.

EXTENDED: The chance of showers will continue into our Monday as we begin the workweek. It won’t be raining all day on Monday, but the chance will be there throughout the day. Cloudy conditions will persist in between rounds of rain, with those southerly winds continuing to gust at times, again, up to 30 mph. Highs will reach the upper 60s to lower 70s behind these persistent winds. Tuesday looks like the more organized event as a cold front approaches from the northwest. Through Tuesday, we could be looking at over 2″ of rain in many locations, which will help alleviate some of our drought problems across Mid-Missouri. We’ll have to continue to track this front as we could see some wintry precipitation on the back side as it exits the area. Temperatures behind the front look to tumble as we feel the full effect on Wednesday with highs in the middle 30s. We’ll recover by next weekend with another system we are tracking towards the beginning of the weekend. Watch ABC 17 News for the newest forecast and check back here for updates.
