Jefferson City Public School officials: Capital City High to be new high school name

Despite the rainy and snowy weather, members of the Jefferson City community gathered at the location of the new high school Saturday afternoon for the groundbreaking and reveal of the school’s name.

After a naming committee narrowed the name down to three options; Capital City High, Mission High and Stoneridge High; community members voted for Capital City High as the name of the second high school in Jefferson City, according to Larry Linthacum, JCPS superintendent.

Capital City High School is expected to be open by August 2019 at 2653 Creek Trail Drive.
