Spring-like day Thursday, cold Friday

TONIGHT: It will be a mild night across Mid-Missouri, as overcast skies and southerly winds keep temperatures near 50 degrees. Temperatures will slowly rise after midnight, reaching the upper 50s by morning.

THURSDAY: It will feel more like mid-April as temperature reach the mid to upper 60s under mostly cloudy skies. Spotty drizzle is possible in the morning with a slight chance of light showers in the afternoon and evening. Rain amounts will be light with most areas seeing under a tenth inch. It will be windy with southwesterly winds at 12-18 mph, gusting up to 30 mph at times. Winds will shift to the northwest in the afternoon and evening behind a cold front and temperatures will quickly fall.

EXTENDED: Showers will move to near I-44 by midnight and end as colder, drier air moves in. Temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 20s by Friday morning with wind chills in the teens due to gusty northerly winds. As clouds gradually clear, it will be cold with high temperatures only reaching the mid 30s Friday with a diminishing north wind in the afternoon. The drop in temperatures will be brief as this weekend highs will rise back in the 40s Saturday and 50s Sunday. An upper level wave moving through Saturday will increase clouds but rain chances are limited. A better chance of rain moves in Sunday night through Tuesday with an active weather pattern early next week. Watch ABC 17 News for the newest forecast and check back here for updates.
