Officers investigate disturbance, chase in central Columbia

Police officers took one person into custody after a reported disturbance and chase in central Columbia.

Police tell ABC 17 News that it is investigating what led up to the disturbance call in the 500 block of Garth Avenue on Wednesday night. Officers said a person ran from them when they arrived. Police eventually caught that person on Worley Street.

The call originally reported a disturbance involving a baseball bat, police said. Officers are still searching for that bat, according to ABC 17 News crews on scene.
