Two charged in stolen vehicle chase that ended in crash

Two men were charged in a Jefferson City chase that ended with a crash on Bolivar Street and West Main.

According to one probable cause statement, Deshawn Clark was driving the stolen vehicle and failed to stop when officers initiated their sirens.

Clark crashed and struck another car, which sent the other driver to the hospital.

Police arrested Clark after he attempted to flee on foot.

Clark told officers he got the car from a friend, but would not provide any more information.

Clark was charged with tampering with a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and assault.

According to the other probable cause statement, Johnny Anderson was sitting in the passenger seat of the stolen vehicle. Anderson was also arrested when he attempted to flee on foot.

Anderson was wearing the victim’s stolen property and admitted he got it from Clark.

Anderson was charged with tampering with a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and receiving stolen property.
