Porter Jr. opens up about possible return to the court
On Friday afternoon, Mizzou forward Michael Porter Jr. opened up about a possible return to the court. He said he wants to play this season if he’s cleared by his doctor.
“I would love to play again. That was my whole reason to come to Mizzou, was to play.” Porter Jr. said. “But I’m just having a great time watching the guys. I think people lose focus on what’s really important, and that’s that our team is doing good and we’re having a great year.”

Porter Jr. said he’s feeling better every day. He also said he’s not worried about possibly re-injuring his back.
“I feel better right now than I’ve ever felt,” Porter Jr. said. The freshman added he hasn’t practiced yet. Porter Jr. says it’s up to his doctor on whether or not he will return this season.
In November, Porter Jr. had back surgery in Dallas, Texas. The projected recovery time was three to four months.
