Jefferson City police arrest two after chase with stolen car ends in crash
Jefferson City police arrested two suspects after a motor vehicle crash on Friday morning.
Police said they attempted to stop a car that was reported stolen in the 100 block of West Dunklin.
The vehicle failed to stop and a chase began. The chase continued onto Bolivar Street where the stolen vehicle collided with a SUV at the intersection of West Main.
Officers said the suspect vehicle overturned and hit a parked pickup truck before coming to a rest.
Two suspects in the stolen vehicle fled the scene and were taken into custody after a brief foot chase.
The driver of the SUV was taken to a local hospital for their injuries sustained during the crash.
Police said they are requesting that the suspects be charged with theft of a motor vehicle, assault, possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and other traffic related violations.
The names of the suspects have not been released at this time.
