Jefferson City police arrested two suspects after a motor vehicle crash on Friday morning.

Police said they attempted to stop a car that was reported stolen in the 100 block of West Dunklin.

The vehicle failed to stop and a chase began. The chase continued onto Bolivar Street where the stolen vehicle collided with a SUV at the intersection of West Main.

Officers said the suspect vehicle overturned and hit a parked pickup truck before coming to a rest.

Two suspects in the stolen vehicle fled the scene and were taken into custody after a brief foot chase.

The driver of the SUV was taken to a local hospital for their injuries sustained during the crash.

Police said they are requesting that the suspects be charged with theft of a motor vehicle, assault, possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and other traffic related violations.

The names of the suspects have not been released at this time.
