Colder by Friday night, weekend ice & snow
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies and southerly winds up to 8 mph will help keep our temperatures warmer with lows in the low 30s by morning.
FRIDAY: A cold front will move through during the afternoon, dropping temperatures from north to south. Before the cold air arrives, temperatures will reach near 40 north of I-70 and into the lower 50s at the Lake of the Ozarks. South winds will shift to the north by evening as temperatures fall below freezing. Patchy freezing drizzle is possible in the evening hours, increasing overnight.
EXTENDED: Freezing drizzle will continue Saturday south of I-70, with light snow developing north of I-70. Snow will increase Saturday late-afternoon, mixing with freezing rain south of I-70, turning to all snow through the night. Freezing rain in the Ozarks will gradually change to snow Saturday night, ending Sunday morning. Ice accumulation will range from a glaze of ice near I-70 to a tenth near I-44. Moderate snow is possible north of HWY 24 where accumulation will be highest but farther south, light amounts are expected with some areas only receiving a trace of snow.
