Mild end to the week, weekend wintry mix & snow chance
TONIGHT: With a few passing clouds, temperatures will drop to near 20 as winds shift to the south up to 8 mph.
THURSDAY: It will feel more comfortable outdoors as temperatures climb into the upper 40s with mostly sunny skies and southwesterly winds up to 10 mph.
EXTENDED: Temperatures will reach the mid 40s Friday with more clouds moving in ahead of our next storm system which will affect us from Friday night through Saturday night. A west/east oriented cold front will slowly slide through Mid-Missouri Friday night, dropping temperatures below freezing. Freezing drizzle is possible Friday night as this front moves through with a chance of light snow showers north of I-70. Heading into Saturday, moisture moving in aloft from the west with waves of low pressure, will cause snow to develop mainly north of I-70 by afternoon but farther south, freezing rain is possible before briefly turning to snow Saturday night. A lot can change between now and Saturday, but trends are suggesting we’ll have a chance of ice and light snow. It will remain cold this weekend, with temperatures in the upper 20s.
