UPDATE: Columbia police release suspect description in Hermitage Road home invasion
UPDATE – 1:35 pm: Columbia police said they are continuing to search for the suspect in the armed home invasion.
Police said three occupants were present at the time of the incident. The suspect showed a gun to one of the victims and searched the house before fleeing the area.
Officers said there was no reported injuries and the amount of property damage is unknown at this time.
The suspect is described as a black man between 30 to 40 years old, weighing approximately 240 pounds.
The suspect was last seen wearing multiple layers of dark clothing.
The investigation is on-going.

UPDATE – 8:50 A.M.: Columbia police and the K-9 unit cleared the area of the 3700 block of Hermitage Road.
Police at the scene said the K-9 was unable to locate the suspect.
UPDATE – 8:15 A.M.: Columbia police said a suspect, for whom they are currently searching, is considered armed, but did not say dangerous.
Officers responded near the 3700 block of Hermitage Road in Columbia Monday morning.
ORIGINAL: Multiple Columbia police units are at the scene of Heritage Road searching for a suspect.
ABC 17 News was told by officers that they are utilizing K-9 units to perform a manhunt.
Few details have been confirmed, however, ABC 17 News crews will remain on scene as the search continues.
