Cold Sunday Will Lead into Interesting Week

TODAY: It will be much colder Sunday as temperatures will hold steady and even drop throughout the day, falling to the low to mid 20s by the afternoon. There’s a spot chance at flurries Sunday morning, but we should see skies gradually clear into the afternoon and evening hours.

TONIGHT : Those clearing skies will lead us into the coldest night we have in the next week. High pressure will be settling in, calming winds and clearing out skies overhead. These clear skies at night will bring us down to around 10 degrees.

EXTENDED: With a cold start to Monday, temperatures will rebound decently to the middle 30s in the afternoon. Clouds will begin to build back into the area ahead of our next approaching system. Tuesday is where the forecast starts to get tricky. Confidence is building that we will see some sort of event affecting the entire viewing area. However, right now with the low currently still off the shore of Western Canada, will hold off on narrowing down exact amounts for Mid-Missouri until the system gets a little closer. The reason for that is the exact track of this system is critical to what kind of precipitation falls and how much we receive. Recent data is suggesting the rain/snow line will be near Mid-Missouri as some of the heaviest precipitation is falling. If it falls as all snow, we have a good chance at seeing light to moderate measurable snow. The rest of the week looks dry with temperatures moderating into the weekend ahead of another cold front.
