UPDATE: Student ordered to stay off school grounds after injuring three administrators

UPDATE 3:05 pm: McPike was charged with delivery of 35 grams or less of marijuana and two counts of assault.

McPike was also ordered to not set foot on the premises of any Columbia public school.

According to the probable cause statement, McPike is a student at Battle High School and has caused a great deal of strain on the staff.

He is accused of repeatedly disregarding staff and endangering students by bringing drugs to school.

ORIGINAL STORY: Jered McPike was arrested on Wednesday morning after Battle High School Resource Officers were called to administration for a person having behavioral issues.

An administrator said they could smell a strong odor or marijuana coming from McPike.

McPike was accused of hitting the administrator as she was pulling a plastic bag from his pants pocket.

McPike ran from the office and hit another administrator with a door.

Officers said McPike proceeded to run into a third administrator and a fight ensued but he was eventually detained.

Officers said they noticed a lump on one of administrator’s head. The second administrator had a sore ankle and back. The third administrator had a cut on his right hand as well as his upper back and shoulder pain.

Officers searched McPike and found nine small bags of marijuana.

McPike faces possible charges of assault and drug distribution.
