UPDATE: Police search for suspect after shooting on Sylvan Lane
UPDATE: Police confirm an armed male suspect attempted to break into the residence, but was unsuccessful.
The person inside the residence kept the man outside, where the two had a “scuffle,” according to a sergeant on scene.
During the fight several gun shots went off, prompting multiple 911 calls just before 7 p.m. Monday.
Officers found multiple shell casings on the front porch of the residence.
Police say there are no reported injuries, and that nothing was reported stolen. No arrests have been made at this time.

ORIGINAL: Officers with the Columbia Police Department confirmed they were investigating a shots fired incident Monday night.
It happened in the 1500 block of Sylvan Lane. You can see in the above photo, police tape is up while police investigate what led to the shooting.
Officers on the scene found shell casings and told ABC 17 News the shots fired could have been an attempted home invasion. There are no known injuries at this time.
