Firefighters respond to fire at Midway motel, evacuate some

Firefighters responded to a structure fire at the Midway Budget Inn on Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters said they were already on scene responding to a medical call when they were alerted by a passerby of smoke coming from a window at the inn.

Crews made entry and saw a small fire that was contained inside of a room.

Some of the residents were evacuated and no injuries were reported.

Firefighters are still investigating the cause of the fire and looking into damage estimates.
