UPDATE: Two teenagers charged in Sixth Street armed robbery

UPDATE: Fisher and McTye have been charged with robbery, armed criminal action and assault.

ORIGINAL STORY:Columbia police arrested two teens Monday night on suspicion of robbing a man sitting in a parked vehicle.

Cornell Fisher, 17, and Joshua McTye, 17, and an unnamed 16-year-old are now facing potential charges of robbery in the first degree, armed criminal action and first degree assault, according to police.

Officers responded to the 800 block of Sixth Street for the reported robbery just after 6 p.m.

A man told police he was sitting in the driver’s seat of his parked car when two people came up to the passenger’s side. The man said a third person, who he identified as Fisher, opened up his driver’s side door, pointed a gun at him and demanded property.

The man said that Fisher loaded the handgun in front of him.

He said McTye and the 16-year-old suspect took two bags from his car and ran off.

The victim told police he started to chase the suspects when Fisher turned around and fired one shot toward him.

Officers later found one shell casing on scene. They also found the victim’s reported stolen property along with the suspects and took them into custody.

No one was hurt.
