President Trump expected to discuss economic growth in first State of the Union address

President Donald Trump is scheduled to give his first State of the Union address on Tuesday night.

The event will be a chance for the president to look back at his administration’s achievements in Trump’s first year in office.

Trump is expected to discuss economic growth and the tax reform passed in 2017.

A number of democrats have said they will boycott the speech.

Sen. Chuck Schumer said, “This is an extreme dereliction of duty by President Trump. Who seems more intent on undermining the rule of law in this country than standing up to Putin.”

While Sen. Mitch McConnell said, “My understanding is there is no effort underway to undermine or to remove the special counsel. Therefore, I don’t see any need to bring up legislation to protect someone who appears to need no protection.”
