Moberly firefighters respond to outside fire that stretched for 7 miles

Moberly firefighters responded to Business 63 and South Morley for reports of a natural cover fire on Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters said they had to call for extra help because the fire covered a 7 mile stretch along the train tracks.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but investigators believe it may have been caused by a train.

Firefighters said the windy and dry conditions did not help the spread of the fire.

ABC 17 crews on scene said firefighters were able to put the fire out and the scene is being cleared.
