Columbia police arrest man accused of choking woman in car

Columbia police arrested Aaron Osborn early Saturday morning after officers were dispatched to an assault in the area of Park Avenue and Ash Street.

The female victim told officers that she was in a car with Osborn when she accused him of taking her cell phone the last time they were together.

Osborn was accused of getting upset, grabbing the woman’s coat and pulling her back towards him. The woman said Osborn took his hand and put it around her neck and started choking her.

Police said the woman tried to get away but Osborn pulled her back towards him, placed his left forearm around her neck and put her in a choke hold.

Osborn faces possible charges of second degree assault.
