Brief warmup before a return to cold.

TONIGHT: Even colder conditions expected through the night, as temperatures bottom out near 18 degrees. Clear skies and light winds will allow for radiational cooling, so some locations will likely fall into the mid teens. Wind chill values through the night will be in the 8 to 14 degree range, thanks to winds out of the north northeast up to 7 mph.

TUESDAY: We’ll begin to see a brief warm-up on Tuesday as temperatures rise into the mid 40s. We’ll have gusty winds along with very dry air so it is important that you avoid outdoor burning. We have been dealing with a persistent drought across the region, so even any small embers that get carried will have wild brushfire potential.

EXTENDED: Into Wednesday even warmer conditions are expected as an upper level ridge slowly noses into Mid-Missouri. Highs will top out in the mid to upper 50s under partly cloudy skies. However, another cold front will bring a return to colder conditions and a slight chance of precipitation as we head into Thursday, with even colder conditions to follow.
