Boone County man arrested after failing to stop at stop sign, deputies say
Boone County deputies said they arrested a man after he failed to stop at a stop sign Sunday morning.
Deputies said they witnessed a driver, later identified as Wallace Allen, 30, of Columbia fail to completely stop at a stop sign, and attempted to pull him over.
Deputies said Allen continued to drive a few blocks before eventually pulling over. They said once Allen stopped, he tried to run, but didn’t get too far because another deputy stopped him.
After deputies took Allen into custody, they said they ran his name through the system and found that he is a convicted felon.
Deputies said they then searched Allen and his vehicle and found a handgun, marijuana and pills that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Deputies said they arrested Allen for unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of controlled substances, resisting arrest, failed to yield for an emergency vehicle, possession of marijuana and failed to stop at a stop sign.
