Enjoy Sunday while you can, winter returns Monday.
TONIGHT : Temperatures will make a slow drop back into the lower 30s over night tonight, and our wind will become light & variable under partly cloudy skies.
SUNDAY: Sunday will be mostly sunny with temperatures once again rebounding into the upper 40s and potentially even some low 50s. By later in the afternoon we will see clouds begin to build into the area, and that will be ahead of strong cold front that has the chance to produce light snow across Mid-Missouri late Sunday night into early Monday morning. Accumulations will be hard to come by with most of the area only receiving a dusting.
EXTENDED: We should dry out before rush hour on Monday morning, as that system will be through the area before 3am, but it will be cold with temperatures in the low 20s heading out the door Monday morning. You will need that jacket all day as afternoon highs only touch near freezing. We remain quiet throughout the rest of the week, however we are watching the potential for a storm to develop across the area late Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Weather forecasting data is still trying to pin down the exact track, and location of where precipitation will fall. It will be wise to continue watching ABC 17 throughout the week, as we get closer to tracking down exactly what we’ll see when that system finally arrives.
