Columbia police arrest woman accused of stabbing man in shoulder

Columbia police arrested Marion Smith early Sunday morning after officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Claudell Lane in reference to a domestic assault with a weapon.

Police said Smith and a male victim were arguing when Smith went into the kitchen, grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the man in the shoulder.

Officers said they saw a wound on the top of the man’s shoulder between his neck and arm.

A two-year-old girl was sitting on the couch with the man when the incident occurred.

Smith faces possible charges of armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, domestic assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
