Columbia man accused of child exploitation sentenced to 22 years in prison

Timothy Garrison, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced on Friday that Jayme Walker was sentenced in federal court to charges related to child pornography and the sexual exploitation of a minor.

Walker was sentenced in federal prison without parole for 22 years. He was also sentenced to a term of supervised release for 25 years following his incarceration.

In March, Walker was found guilty of producing child pornography, receiving it and transferring obscene material to a minor.

Walker was accused of talking with a 14 to 15-year-old victim in Illinois. Walker texted and exchanged pornographic photos and videos, Garrison said.

The parent’s of the victim turned over a laptop, two cell phones and an iPod to investigators.

The victim told officers he never met Walker in person, but they talked several times, including sexual conversations and exchanged explicit photos and videos. The victim said he told Walker his true age.

Investigators said they found 77 images and six videos exchanged between Walker and the victim. Not all of the images depicted child pornography.

Walker was also accused of seeking out minor children through the internet in order to engage in sexual activity. He used the Kik app to talk with a 17-year-old victim and exchange explicit photographs.

The 17-year-old told investigators that he met Walker in Columbia and had sex.

A 13-year-old victim also told investigators that he talked with Walker, who attempted to arrange sexual rendezvous with him.

The court found that Walker perjured himself by giving false information while testifying under oath at trial two different times.
