Troopers arrest two after officers respond to a wrong way crash

Troopers arrested two after officers responded to a head-on collision on I-70 in Montgomery County early Thursday morning.

Montgomery County deputies said the crash happened when a Cadillac Deville was driving east in the westbound lanes of traffic and struck a Hyundai Sante Fe.

Deputies said the wrong way driver and the passenger fled the scene on foot. A search began for the two suspects and a short time later they were found in the New Florence area.

Troopers said the driver of the Hyundai, Damon Stephens, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to University Hospital.

Troopers arrested the driver of the Cadillac, Devon Kimbrough for leaving the scene of an accident. The passenger of the Cadillac, Gerron Jones, was also arrested and faces possible charges of leaving the scene of an accident.

Troopers said both of the vehicles involved in the crash were totaled.
