Illinois man accused in Montgomery County of leading authorities on a car chase

A man is charged in Montgomery County after officers say he led them on a pursuit.

According to a probable cause from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Lucious Jones of Illinois was speeding on I-70 with expired registration.

Troopers say when they tried to pull Jones over, he sped up and switched lanes. At times his speed was up to 110 miles per hour.

Eventually, his car got a flat tire and Jones was detained without further incident, troopers say.

Jones apparently did not have a valid driver’s license at the time of arrest.

Jones is charged with resisting/interfering with arrest/detention/stop and operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner, among others.

His bond appearance is scheduled for Jan. 18 at 9 a.m.
