Eldon woman accused of abandoning dogs in storage unit

An Eldon woman has been charged with animal neglect or abandonment after officers responded to Clean Concepts storage units for reports of abandoned dogs in a storage unit.

According to the probable cause statement, the property manager told officers that he believed the woman renting the unit was living in it or staying in it off and on.

Police said they opened the storage unit and found two dogs with minimal water and no food.

Officers said due to their conditions, the dogs were seized and transported to a local animal shelter.

Police made contact with the renter of the unit, Celestel Dake, who said the dogs had only been there a short time because she had no where to go with them.
