Mizzou uses big second half to cruise past Georgia

The Mizzou basketball team beat Georgia, 68-56 on Wednesday night at Mizzou Arena. The Tigers are now 12-4 overall and 2-1 in the SEC.

MU was down 23-20 at halftime, but Mizzou went on to outscore the Bulldogs 48-33 in the second half.

Freshman Jontay Porter made his first career start, and he made the most of it. Porter scored 15 points and brought down 10 rebounds. Senior guard Kassius Robertson also had 15 points for the Tigers.

Mizzou held Georgia’s leading scorer, Yante Maten, to just nine points on 2-8 shooting. The Bulldogs shot just 38 percent from the field.

Up next, the Tigers will go on the road to take on Arkansas at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
