Columbia police arrest man accused of trapping woman in car trunk for 12 hours

Columbia police arrested Hamson Ham on Monday after officers responded to a possible assault.

According to the probable cause statement, Ham choked a female victim after an argument. Police said the woman had multiple marks on the left and right sides of her neck indicating force was applied to her neck.

The woman also claimed that Ham placed her in the trunk of his car and left her there for approximately 12 hours.

Police said Ham has been physically violent during arguments with the woman in the past.

Ham was charged with domestic assault.
