Jefferson City police arrest man accused of kidnapping woman, beating her

Jefferson City police arrested Crystopher Wright on Saturday after officers responded to reports of an assault.

According to the probable cause statement, Wright and a female victim had been in an ongoing argument when Wright showed up at the woman’s apartment uninvited.

Officers said Wright grabbed the victim from behind, ripped her jacked, stopped her from leaving, and threw her onto a nearby bed.

The woman told police that Wright tied her wrists and ankles together with scarves and also blindfolded her. Wright tied a dog leash to the bed post and the door so that it could not be opened.

The woman also said Wright grabbed electronic cords and tied her wrists and ankles. Wright also struck the woman with a belt and threatened to kill the woman and her children if she went to the police.

Wright was also accused of strangling the woman with the belt but she was able to convince him to stop.

Police said the victim had a ripped shirt, cord imprints, bruising around her wrists and ankles, belt marks and bruising to her arms and legs and bruising around her neck.

Wright was charged with kidnapping and domestic assault.
