Two arrested in car theft case in Osage County

Two men have been arrested by Osage County sheriff deputies in regard to a car theft case.

Allen Burnett, 27, is charged with receiving stolen property and Nathan Wilson; 32, are also charged with three counts of receiving stolen property and first-degree tampering.

According to court documents ABC 17 News got on Jan. 2, deputies were made aware of a stolen vehicle case.

Deputies responded to County Road 300 and Hill Top Lane where they believed the stolen vehicles were. When they got there, they found a 2002 Volkswagen Bug parked on the property. One deputy said in court documents that the front and rear windows were broken out and the hood was dented. The deputy ran the VIN and found it to be reported stolen from St. Charles.

While deputies were there, they heard a loud engine noise coming from the 200 block of Hill Top Lane. A person was seen running into the woods, who was later identified as Allen Clay Burnett.

A 1994 Dodge Ram 2500 that was on the property appeared to have been spray painted black. The original color appeared to be white. The truck’s VIN was ran and it came back as stolen from Owensville.

Deputies obtained a search warrant for the home in the 200 block of Hill Top Lane. where they found a Social Security card, credit cards, health cards, and insurance cards which were all reported stolen.
