Osage County deputies arrest two after finding stolen vehicles
Osage County deputies arrested two men on Tuesday after officers responded to a residence near County Road 300 for reports of a stolen vehicle.
According to the probable cause statement, when deputies arrived on scene they noticed multiple vehicles in poor condition.
Deputies said they found a Volkswagon that was reported stolen out of St. Charles.
When officers were still on the property, they saw a man in the woods. Deputies said when the man saw them, he dropped his belongings and ran.
Officers said they were able to catch up with the man, identified him as Allen Burnett and arrest him.
While officers were still on the property, they discovered another stolen vehicle with Nathan Wilson inside.
According to the probable cause statement, the truck had been reported as white but it had been spray painted black.
Deputies said they continued to search the property and found a stolen chainsaw, stolen credit and debit cards and a stolen social security card.
Burnett told deputies that he did not know the truck had been reported stolen and he ran because he did not know law enforcement was chasing after him.
Wilson told deputies that he purchased the stolen items from an unknown person and did not know they were stolen at the time.
Burnett was charged with receiving stolen property.
Wilson was charged with three counts of receiving stolen property and tampering with a motor vehicle.
ABC17 is reaching out to authorities for a mugshot of Wilson.
