Columbia firefighters respond to more than 20 water main breaks in six days

The Columbia Fire Department announced on Thursday that crews have responded to more than 20 water main breaks since Saturday.

According to the department’s spokesperson, firefighters have responded to 27 water line / water main breaks.

The most recent water main break was on Thursday afternoon when firefighters responded to Wayside Drive because 13 sprinkler systems were damaged in commercial buildings due to the freezing pipes.
