Callaway County man accused of hitting another man with rake

A Callaway County man has been charged with assault and resisting arrest after he allegedly hit another man with a rake.

Callaway County deputies responded to the 300 block of West Walnut Street after a victim called to say that Jerry Wilkerson had assaulted him.

According to the probable cause statement, the victim was removing his property from a residence in the area and Wilkerson came over and began yelling at him about damaging property.

The victim told deputies that Wilkerson attempted to punch him and also tried to hit a female victim. Wilkerson was also accused of getting a rake and striking the male victim with it.

Officers said they saw markings consistent with a rake on the victim’s left forearm.

Wilkerson admitted to officers that he wanted to beat the victim up and admitted to hitting the victim with a rake.

When deputies attempted to arrest Wilkerson, he refused to comply and said he was not going to jail. When Wilkerson resisted arrest he and a deputy fell off of a porch.
