Mexico Public Safety officers arrest woman accused of stabbing St. Louis man

Mexico Public Safety officers were called to the 900 block of Hassen Drive on Saturday for a reported disturbance.

Officers said they discovered there was a fight inside one of the apartments on the block and a 23-year-old St. Louis man was stabbed with a knife.

Police said they arrested 20-year-old Lanyia Smith for the offense.

Smith faces possible charges of domestic assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

Officers said that the victim was treated at a local hospital and was later released.
