Deep freeze continues with the end in sight
WEDNESDAY: Today will start off warmer as lows drop into the low to mid teens with partly cloudy skies. As clouds begin to clear out through the afternoon highs will top out in the lower 20s. A passing cold front will bring cold tracking into Mid-Missouri later today. This Arctic air will once again come on the heels of a brisk northwesterly wind up to 20 mph, which will keep wind chills near 5 degrees through most of the day.
TONIGHT: Temperatures will plummet back towards 0 degrees by Thursday morning with winds out of the northwest. Winds up to 10 mph will drop the wind chill factor towards -15 under clear skies.
EXTENDED: It continues to be dry through Friday with below freezing temperatures. Friday’s highs will reach the lower 20s. Warmer air finally arrives as we head into the weekend but Saturday will still be quite chilly with highs approaching the freezing mark. Areas west of HWY 63 look to hold the best chance for above freezing temperatures on Saturday. Southerly winds will boost temperatures into the lower 40s Sunday across all of mid-Mo with a slight chance of rain due to increasing moisture late this weekend. Early next week shows another cool down with highs in the 30s on Monday and dropping temperatures through mid-week. Watch ABC17 News for the newest forecast and check back here for updates.
