UPDATE: Armed and dangerous Fulton man taken into custody

UPDATE: Fulton Police Chief Steve Myers confirms officers and Callaway County deputies have taken Jerry Roberts into custody.

Sgt. Cyrstal Kent said officers had information Roberts was back in the area of Grand Avenue later Saturday afternoon. Kent said Roberts was located in the 700 block of Vine Street and led a deputy on a short foot chase before being arrested.

Kent said witness cooperation helped law enforcement quickly track him down Saturday.

“That’s why we ask for the public’s help in a lot of cases,” she said. “We can’t be everywhere at once, so to have the public help is an extreme, extreme part of our job.”

Roberts was arrested on suspicion of unlawful use and possession of a weapon, stealing a firearm and two counts of trespassing.

ORIGINAL: Fulton Police received a call about 6:30 a.m. Saturday of shots fired in the area of 500 Grand Avenue.

The suspect is believed to be wearing a gray sweat outfit and gray coat. Roberts is described as white male approximately 6 feet 2 inches, weighing 185 pounds with a shaved head.

Police say Roberts is believed to be in possession of a firearm and considered armed and dangerous.

Police say if you see him do not make contact with him, but contact local law enforcement.
