Columbia city clerk accepting applications for boards and commissions

The Columbia city clerk announced on Thursday that the city is accepting applications for boards and commissions.

City officials said boards and commissions are ways for citizens to be involved in local government.

Current openings are:

-Columbia Community Development Commission

-Columbia Vision Commission

-Commission on Cultural Affairs

-Firefighter’s Retirement Board

-Human Services Commission

-Mayor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Health

-Parking Advisory Commission

Applications should be sent to the City Clerk’s Office at 701 E. Broadway, on the second floor, by 5 p.m. on Friday Jan. 5.
