Three injured in three-car crash on Jefferson City bridge
Three people were recovering after a multi-vehicle crash on the Jefferson City bridge Wednesday night. It happened just after 6:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes.
According to police, the crash happened when a Chevrolet El Camino had a mechanical failure in the right lane. The driver of a Honda Fit had stopped behind it, but the driver of another car was unable to stop and struck the Honda Fit, sending it to crash into the El Camino.
An ABC 17 News crew on the scene saw one person bleeding from the head after the collision, but the person was communicating with emergency responders.
The occupants of the Honda Fit and the driver of the El Camino all suffered minor injuries and were hospitalized.
Two lanes of the bridge were closed for about 30 minutes while crews worked to clear the scene and tow the cars.
