Kansas City firefighter found dead at station, no foul play suspected

The Kansas City Kansas Fire Department reported that firefighter and paramedic Jason Garrett, 46, passed away early Tuesday morning.

Department officials said Garrett passed away while on duty at Station 19. He was found by coworkers, unresponsive in his bed and was pronounced dead at the station.

Garrett was a 5 1/2 year veteran of the Kansas City Kansas Fire Department.

Officials said no foul play is suspected but there is an ongoing investigation to determine Garrett’s death.
