Serious damage to home after fire on David Allen Road in Boone County

UPDATE, 12:17 p.m.: The fire is believed to have started on the back patio of the home before spreading inside, but the investigation is ongoing.

Boone County Fire crews were able to salvage wrapped presents and sporting equipment from the basement of the home.

UPDATE, 11:00 p.m.: The Boone County Fire Department said the home in the 10400 block of David Allen Road suffered serious damage, but is not a total loss.

All residents except one of three dogs were accounted for as of 11 p.m.

UPDATE, 9:32 p.m.: ABC 17 News has a crew at the intersection of Rangeline Road and David Allen Road where fire crews are keeping the road blocked off to traffic while they work to contain the fire.

David Allen Road is a dead end street and some emergency vehicles have not yet made it down the road.

At least 19 units were called to the scene.

ORIGINAL: The Boone County Fire Department is working to put on a structure fire in the county.

16 units, including four tanker trucks have been called to David Allen Road for the fire.

According to the department, a caller said all occupants appear to be out of the building.

Firefighters were called out to the structure around 8:50 p.m. and said the fire is on the rear side of the building.

ABC 17 News is headed to the scene and will update this story as we gather more information.
