Mild through Thursday, but changes by the holiday weekend

TUESDAY: Low clouds will increase early and the day and be persistent as a cold front moves through. Temperatures will climb into the low to mid 50s as southwest winds shift to the northwest up to 10 mph.

TONIGHT: Skies will remain partly cloudy tonight as lows drop back into the mid 30s due to winds out of the east up to 10 mph. With cooler air in place wind chills will drop into the low 30s by daybreak.

EXTENDED: Highs will reach the lower 50s Wednesday but jump back up into the lower 60s Thursday under partly cloudy skies as a warm front lifts north. As the front lifts areas to the northwest could see a few spotty rain showers through the day on Thursday. Overnight lows will only drop to near 40. A strong cold front will move in by Friday, bringing a slight chance of rain and snow showers as colder air moves in. Highs by Friday afternoon will be more seasonal, but much cooler, in the mid 40s. As temperatures drop behind the front, some areas could begin to see a few snow flurries mixed in with the rain chance as early as Friday night. The coldest air yet this season arrives for Christmas weekend with high temperatures only reaching the mid 30s Saturday and low 30s Sunday with nights dropping into the teens and low 20s. While confidence is high regarding the cold blast by the weekend, there is still uncertainty on whether we will see snow on Christmas Eve. There are signs that we’ll tap into some moisture, but anything we do get would be light and brief with the fast moving system. Christmas day looks even colder than the weekend with highs in the 20s.
