Columbia police investigate at least 3 weekend burglaries

Columbia police said they are investigating three different burglaries that happened over the weekend.

Police said they were called to the 4700 block of Derby Ridge Drive for reports of a burglary that happened sometime between Friday afternoon and early Sunday morning.

Officers found that the front door of the residence was forced open and some items inside were stolen.

Another burglary also happened on Derby Ridge Drive, but sometime on Saturday between 3:50 p.m. and 11:45 p.m., police said.

Police said they were dispatched to the 4400 block of Derby Ridge Drive around 12:30 a.m. Sunday and found that the back door of the residence was forced open.

Police said no items were stolen from the residence.

Shortly before the previous burglary, officers were called to the 3100 block of Rock Quarry Road for similar reports, police said.

Police said the burglary happened on Saturday, sometime between 2 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Officers said they do not know how the burglar or burglars entered the home, but items inside were stolen.

Police said all of the burglary incidents are under investigation.
